Buried Treasure: Part 6 By Carol Pedroso

The helicopter shook as it took off. Craig was strapped to a bed in the back and I was sitting beside him belted to my chair. He grabbed my hand and clung on as we reached the height we needed and set off towards Chapmistres View.

“Remind me again why he would head for a community that is made up of witches and vampires. Especially when two of those vampires are the oldest known two on this island.” Craig asked me as we watched the scenery whizz by.

“Well the first point would be that Chapmistres is the nearest community

Aesthetics of Invention: 4 by Ravon Silvius

“You clearly needed that,” Thorn said after their lovemaking session, lying next to his lover. His heart began to slow, his body hot but satisfied. “You always seem so desperate, especially lately.”

Kenneth nodded, his face red, and he took a few moments to catch his breath before speaking. “It’s…it’s the magic, sort of,” he said, and Thorn’s worries resurfaced. “The desperation, I mean. I’ve told you before, but when you’re around, and my magic increases…it’s intoxicating. Like being drunk, of sorts.” He stroked a hand down Thorn’s arm. “I’m not used to it. And…” he swallowed. “It makes me lustful. That doesn’t always happen with lifemates, but it does with you. Because I already want you.”

Love Across Time chapter 12; by Jim Dunaway;

Doctor Thomas’s brows furrowed as he examined Ethan’s chart. “Michelle,” he said to the attending ICU nurse, “why aren’t there any recent notations of seizures from Ethan Evans.”

The nurse took the chart from the doctor and examined it carefully. “It would appear that they have stopped. I personally haven’t seen any kind of seizure activity.” She sat at one of the computers and typed in a few commands. “The EEG log shows no seizure activity of any kind for the last two days. Wait a minute…” She glanced at the chart again.

Cyan – Ch 8: by Nephylim:

Robin chased Cyan through mostly empty corridors.

“Cyan, please,” he called. “You don’t understand. You didn’t hear it all. That’s not what I said. I swear I wouldn’t say something like that about you.”

Cyan either didn’t, or didn’t want to hear. He kept on running until he suddenly stopped and hammered on a door.

“Shit,” Robin hissed, and skidded to a halt.

The door to the headmaster’s office was wrenched open. “What the…?”

“It’s happening,” Cyan said, in a strange voice, and stumbled into the room as the headmaster stood aside. Moments later the door closed leaving Robin alone in the corridor.

Hope – Chapter 31; by Chris T. Kat:

While Shane and Silvion slept, I enjoyed the sun on my skin, allowed the quietness of the surrounding nature to seep into me. At least to a certain degree, because after some time the sun started to burn and the calmness annoyed me. Didn’t the birds and bees know that Shane wasn’t supposed to be a puppy? That I’d believed him dead? Or that Silvion would lead us to a place where we were supposed to pick up dragon scales for Shane to eat, so he could shift back into his human-form?

Jordan’s Second Chance 2.3; by T.C. Collins:

Wynter found himself wandering through the park where he’d first met Jordan and Lucas. Walking over to the large oak tree that had always soothed him, Wynter sat with his back to the tree and his legs drawn up. He wrapped his arms around his legs and rested his head on his arms. Wynter closed his eyes and inhaled, his breathing ragged. He’d wanted the truth of who he was his entire life—but not like this. To learn he was responsible for the deaths of his parents, what type of person did that make him?

Springtime: by Lily Sawyer:

Ben never thought he’d be this happy.  He and Tom were enjoying a day together.  They didn’t get this kind of time often.  Tom was working three days on and three days off at the firehouse, and Ben was working on the days Tom was off.   He treasured these times together.  Tom’s job was so dangerous, they never thought about what could happen to him. They tried to live each day as fully as they could.

Dallas in Wonderland II: Chapter Fourteen: by Julie Lynn Hayes:

Their luck seemed to be holding. They’d found a convenient ford, one shallow enough to wade across without having to swim. Campbell suggested they remove their shoes, which seemed a sensible idea. Dallas held his in his left hand. The right was held tightly within Campbell’s secure grasp. They picked their way across the strawberry waters, emerging intact on the other side, none the worse for wear.

Despite being where they were, and despite the way they’d gotten there, Dallas found himself in high spirits. Campbell’s presence—his easy smile and unfailing good humor—were infectious. Even if, for just one dark moment, Dallas wished that Samuel were here, that Samuel was smiling at him in that way. But he pushed that thought aside and decided to enjoy the moment, and the company of his friend.

Second Shot – the Senior Year, CH 28: by Andrew Q. Gordon:

Staring into his closet, Jason realized how long it had been since he and Peter had gone on a real date. Sure they’d gone out alone, but nothing like a real dress up date in months. Sadly this date wouldn’t be only about them.

“You going to decide what to wear some time tonight, Soccer Boy?” Peter’s use of that old nick-name made Jason smile.

“It’s not every day I get a date with a really hot guy. Can you blame me for wanting to look good?”

“You don’t need to put on clothes for that, you look really good already.”

Controller – Chapter 25 : by Jon Keys:

Eli wasn’t joking. I was on the shit list with him. The drive to his parents house had been quiet. Not really tense, just quiet. I decided I was in enough trouble, I wasn’t going to push the issue. Besides, I had to worry about meeting Eli’s mother. And I knew how important she was to him. We pulled into the driveway and sat for a moment before Eli turned to me.

“Well, this is it. You ready to meet my mom?”

I nodded agreement, but the voice sounded more like the squeak of someone going through puberty. “Okay, cool.”
