The early spring sunshine felt good against Josh’s bare skin. The slight heat warmed his skin and chased the last of the winter chill from his system. He stretched his arms above his head and grinned to see Trent coming around the corner as bare chested as he was. But Trent didn’t have to be as careful about sunburn with his darker complexion. He pushed the wheelbarrow beside the garden they were about to tackle. Trent glanced up, caught his eye and grinned.

Kenneth watched as a small glass bead wound its way around a series of tubes constructed from what looked like wood, iron and rubber. It finally rolled to a stop, and once it did a tiny door on the top of the contraption opened, a wooden bird emerging from inside and making a peeping noise.

 “A clock, m’lord,” the woman at the stall said. “For the little ones.”

 Kenneth smiled and shook his head. It was cute, but not what he had in mind for Thorn.

Cade was getting frustrated. He wanted to get to know Louis but the little witch always seemed to disappear before he could talk to him.

He had felt a shock go through him when he touched the man and the scent of him stirred something in him, he wanted to explore those feelings. But first he needed to get Louis to stay in the same room as him for more than a few seconds. Ideally he wanted to get Louis alone, but he would settle for Louis just not running away.

Louis ran into the clinic locker rooms and quickly starting stripping. He couldn’t believe he had slept through his alarm. He knew he hadn’t been sleeping properly but he hadn’t realized just how tired he had become.
Pulling on his uniform he hurried out the door and headed for the staff room. He arrived with barely moments to spare and slipped into his seat.
Senior nurse Dora was taking the staff briefing and she glanced his way before addressing the entire group.
“Now we’re all here we can begin. We currently have four patients in the clinic. Two vampires, one witch and one psychic.
