FOOL FOR LOVE by L.M. Brown

April the first, also known as April Fools Day, was one of Liam’s favourite days to work. The previous year it had fallen on a Sunday and had been something of a disappointment. On working days, however, his normally fairly quiet office turned into a building full of pranksters.  You had to check every chair before you sat down as well as ensuring you didn’t leave any unattended mugs of coffee around. Fake spiders in the bottom of them were common place, as were other equally delightful surprises. Even the IT department joined in on the fun …

Fortitude: Part Nineteen by Cia Nordwell

“One of these days I’m going to knock my brother to the floor and give him a drubbing he won’t forget,” I snapped, once we’d left the house.

“Just turn the other cheek, Will. You can’t change him.”

Teddy acted like he didn’t care when my brother tried to hammer his supposed inferiority into him. But Teddy’s dad was far better at it than my brother would ever be. That didn’t mean I would allow either of them to make him believe he was anything less than the amazing man I knew him to be.

 “We’ll prove him wrong. We’ll

Buried Treasure 9 By Carol Pedroso

I am embarrassed to say I panicked, big time.
I was on my own with the best friend I had loved for years and he was waiting for me to join him in bed!!
Suddenly everything form the last few days started hitting me at once.
I had dug my best friend up from under a landslide.
That best friend had then come to stay with me and needed full on care at first.
I had failed to find Crystal in time to save her.
I was now tasked with finding and capturing – if not killing – her father.
  I had…

No, I haven’t lost my mind. This is what should have been posted on Wednesday, and I apologize for the lateness of this post – both to my writers and to our readers – but I was unable to post, as my computer died Monday and I didn’t get back online until after Wednesday had passed. But better late than never, right? Enjoy!

Aesthetics of Invention: Part 7 by Ravon Silvius
Kenneth ached to return the favor Thorn had given him in the forest outside the inventor’s college. He could barely focus as he walked past the familiar talentless man who watched the entrance at night, thought of nothing but Thorn as he stabled Jade and took his bags, and wasn’t bothered at all by the dusty scent of the dingy hallways as they walked down to Thorn’s room.

“Home sweet home for the next week,” Thorn said, swinging his door open. The hinges creaked, and Thorn winced. “I’ll have to oil that.”

The Boys of Belsmeade – Chapter Three; by Kazy Reed:

Robbie yelped in surprise when the door of their room open flew open. He hastily pulled on his shorts and glared at his roommate. “Dude! I thought you had class right now. Good thing I wasn’t jacking off or anything.

Aramis ignored him and threw the deadbolt on the door. “I need the book,” he whispered.

The book?” Robbie asked in surprise. “Why? Air, you’re scaring me.”

“I just need to check a law,” he replied. Hauling a large wooden box out from under his bed, he fiddled with the padlock. “I need to see how to do this.”

Cyan – Ch 8: by Nephylim:

Robin chased Cyan through mostly empty corridors.

“Cyan, please,” he called. “You don’t understand. You didn’t hear it all. That’s not what I said. I swear I wouldn’t say something like that about you.”

Cyan either didn’t, or didn’t want to hear. He kept on running until he suddenly stopped and hammered on a door.

“Shit,” Robin hissed, and skidded to a halt.

The door to the headmaster’s office was wrenched open. “What the…?”

“It’s happening,” Cyan said, in a strange voice, and stumbled into the room as the headmaster stood aside. Moments later the door closed leaving Robin alone in the corridor.

Hope – Chapter 31; by Chris T. Kat:

While Shane and Silvion slept, I enjoyed the sun on my skin, allowed the quietness of the surrounding nature to seep into me. At least to a certain degree, because after some time the sun started to burn and the calmness annoyed me. Didn’t the birds and bees know that Shane wasn’t supposed to be a puppy? That I’d believed him dead? Or that Silvion would lead us to a place where we were supposed to pick up dragon scales for Shane to eat, so he could shift back into his human-form?
