Love Across Time chapter 12; by Jim Dunaway;

Doctor Thomas’s brows furrowed as he examined Ethan’s chart. “Michelle,” he said to the attending ICU nurse, “why aren’t there any recent notations of seizures from Ethan Evans.”

The nurse took the chart from the doctor and examined it carefully. “It would appear that they have stopped. I personally haven’t seen any kind of seizure activity.” She sat at one of the computers and typed in a few commands. “The EEG log shows no seizure activity of any kind for the last two days. Wait a minute…” She glanced at the chart again.

So you may or may not ask why vampires?

Well, I did ask why vampires. See, I always said I would never write a vampire story just because there are soooooo many of them.

How can you stand out and be fresh in a market overrun with vampire stories? Continue reading

Cyan – Ch 8: by Nephylim:

Robin chased Cyan through mostly empty corridors.

“Cyan, please,” he called. “You don’t understand. You didn’t hear it all. That’s not what I said. I swear I wouldn’t say something like that about you.”

Cyan either didn’t, or didn’t want to hear. He kept on running until he suddenly stopped and hammered on a door.

“Shit,” Robin hissed, and skidded to a halt.

The door to the headmaster’s office was wrenched open. “What the…?”

“It’s happening,” Cyan said, in a strange voice, and stumbled into the room as the headmaster stood aside. Moments later the door closed leaving Robin alone in the corridor.

Hope – Chapter 31; by Chris T. Kat:

While Shane and Silvion slept, I enjoyed the sun on my skin, allowed the quietness of the surrounding nature to seep into me. At least to a certain degree, because after some time the sun started to burn and the calmness annoyed me. Didn’t the birds and bees know that Shane wasn’t supposed to be a puppy? That I’d believed him dead? Or that Silvion would lead us to a place where we were supposed to pick up dragon scales for Shane to eat, so he could shift back into his human-form?

Jordan’s Second Chance 2.3; by T.C. Collins:

Wynter found himself wandering through the park where he’d first met Jordan and Lucas. Walking over to the large oak tree that had always soothed him, Wynter sat with his back to the tree and his legs drawn up. He wrapped his arms around his legs and rested his head on his arms. Wynter closed his eyes and inhaled, his breathing ragged. He’d wanted the truth of who he was his entire life—but not like this. To learn he was responsible for the deaths of his parents, what type of person did that make him?

Springtime: by Lily Sawyer:

Ben never thought he’d be this happy.  He and Tom were enjoying a day together.  They didn’t get this kind of time often.  Tom was working three days on and three days off at the firehouse, and Ben was working on the days Tom was off.   He treasured these times together.  Tom’s job was so dangerous, they never thought about what could happen to him. They tried to live each day as fully as they could.
