“What is this?” I growled.

Rother rolled his eyes, openly annoyed at the interruption. “Damn it.” He swatted the kneeling man’s shoulder. “Get up.”

The young man was blond and fair, reminding me far too much of myself, wiping his mouth as he stood. My husband rose, tucking his penis away. There was no mistaking what I was witnessing. Outrage licked the corners of my vision as all sounds tunneled into an echo. I stalked over and snatched the boy by the collar, dragging him to the door.

“Get out,” I snarled as I shoved him through. Vivian stood in the doorway, a devilish smile on her pretty face.

Drew heaved his carry-on bag into the overhead bin and then slipped into the seat beside Brandon. He leaned forward to peer out the window at the frantic activity even at this ridiculously early hour. The shimmer of light across the damp asphalt created a monochromatic abstract with moving points of light in red and blue. He inhaled softly and was filled with Brandon’s musky morning scent and leaving a metallic tint on the back of his tongue.
“Relax, the flight’s only about an hour,” Brandon whispered.
He glanced at his husband, his chiseled face highlighted in blue from the pale lights above them. The soft sounds of the other passengers finding their seats in the predawn hour reminded him they were not in their hotel any more. He used his left thumb and turned the ring that was a recent addition to the index finger on that hand.

They took their time getting back to their cabin. Marshall didn’t bother to argue when Lee said he didn’t want to use the elevator, the stairs were good enough. He figured there was a method to his madness, and he figured it out as they went—Lee hadn’t been kidding when he said anticipation was the best foreplay.

They stopped on each level, finding different places along the way to indulge in long, lingering kisses and heated caresses, alternately raising their temperatures then cooling them down.  Marshall thought he’d never been turned on so much in his life, and he loved it.

He was beginning to understand why Lee never rushed anything, why he advocated patience. Taking their lovemaking at a slower pace

Evin sat on the couch with Micah on his lap. He pushed away the guilt; Micah wasn’t really a shield, even if Evin was using him to create a distance between him and Ben.

“Ready for your Christmas present?” Ben held up a little bag with red and white paper sticking out. He waved it in front of Micha’s face, and those chubby little hands made a quick grab for it, latching on to one strip of tissue paper and ripping it out.

Ben laughed. “He’s fast! You’re going to have your hands full when he starts walking.”

Darrin leaned back against the chair with his feet propped up on the footstool as Mitch brought him a beer from the fridge. He took a drink and turned back to Orin and Rob.
“How’d you meet? How long have you been together?”
They glanced at each other and Darrin could tell they both were frantically counting, and hoping the other one wouldn’t notice. Rob looked up first with a smile. “Since I was a sophomore. Orin’s a cradle robber.”
“I was not. I’d just started grad school. So I was only a few years older.”
Darrin grinned at them and smiled. “So you’ve been finishing up over the last year while Orin was here?”

Over dinner Ethan and Chris continued to talk. “So describe him to me.” Chris demanded.

“I’d say he was about six-two, maybe two-hundred-fifteen pounds, and even his muscles had muscles. His hair was dark brown and he had grey eyes.” He said with a wistful tone in his voice. Chris snickered. “What’s so funny?” He demanded.

In a sing-song voice, Chris replied, “E-than’s in lo-ove.”

“Fuck you!”

“So not happening, little brother. However, I suspect that if this Ryan guy were to flash his dick in front of your face you’d be bent over with your pants around your ankles quicker n’ shit.” Chris teased.

In front of the dressing mirror I held a new garment against me. The color was bolder than I liked, but Blythe had wasted no time reminding me the outing was to make me more indigenous. He had spouted commentary on every choice, lewd or otherwise. When we approached the undergarments, I sent him outside. Some opinions did not need verbalizing.

“Excellent choices,” Rother said, looking through the wardrobe. “So how much of my money found it’s way into shop owners’ pockets today?”

“None even the smallest coin. I have my own funds, thank you very much.”

“Since when?”

“Now you have nothing to say?” I asked.

The uncharacteristic discomfort Blythe met me with intrigued me. It was not like him at all.

“You won’t think much of me if I tell you.”

“I don’t think much of you now. How will that make any difference?”

Blythe snorted as he tried to suppress his grin. I wasn’t sure goading him would work, but he looked around the shop, making sure no one was close by, and lowered his voice.

“Only Rother and Samantha know. You can’t breathe a word to anyone. Even Harston.”

“You have my word.”

“I was waiting to hang when Rother found me.”

“I thought you were shopping for clothes,” Blythe said.

I didn’t look his way as I entered the shop, Harston at my side. “I am. I need clothing with a Francine sensibility.”

Blythe sounded utterly confused. “Then why are we here?”

“Because there’s more to me than a new wardrobe.”

My head spun at all the lovely gadgets. The machinist shop appeared to have every conceivable tool and piece of clockwork known to man. My personal form of heaven. I managed to pry the address from Rother and added it to our route. It had been some time since I had something new and shiny.

Through the snow by Taylin Clavelli

Every time there’s a snowfall, the UK comes to a halt. Thankfully, the weathermen had given enough of a warning, and sure enough, the main roads were clear. I just had to get to one.

Getting off the drive was an experience. Despite the grit, my partner, Brian, and I added to our path, the car did less than stellar impression of an ice skater as we crawled the half mile to the main road. Once there, Brian made his way to drop me at the train station before continuing onto Worcester, which was in the opposite direction to me.
