I didn’t remember falling asleep. Billy and I had been laughing inanely at the Twitter posts, snuggling together on my bed, not thinking about tomorrow. Now the pale light coming through the gap in the curtains told me it was tomorrow and Billy was still with me, lying on my arm and trapping me. His head rested on my shoulder, warm breath brushing my neck, his arm draped across my chest as he slept. We were both still dressed and my morning erection throbbed painfully against my fly.

Moving Forward #50 (12.2) by Julie Lynn Hayes

At first the six men swam together, laughing and enjoying the beautiful clear blue water. They’d brought a Frisbie which they tossed about and tried to catch. But gradually each couple’s attention turned  more toward each other, and touches became more intimate, kisses longer. Everyone returned to the beach to dry off. Denver and Dustin announced their intentions of exploring the next beach over—Honeymoon Beach it was called—and said they’d be sure to be gone for at least an hour. Maybe two.

Marshall and Lee found a shady niche to themselves beneath a small cluster of palm trees while Roger and Kenny made themselves scarce just around a slight bend. Now they were alone, for all intents and purposes, beneath a gorgeous tropical sky.

“Make it go away,” Jay whispered against his lips. “Make it stop.” He pressed his mouth against Josh’s one more time. “I need this desperate ache to end.”

Josh avoided the other man’s gaze. “I can’t do anything, Jay.” He sighed. “The only way it will stop is if we’re together.”

“Then tonight, my place.” Jay placed a finger under his chin and gently lifted Josh’s head. “Eight o’clock.”

“I won’t take no for an answer, Josh. I’ll see you tonight.”

Demon: Chapter Thirty by Nephy Hart

I fell asleep content and replete in the arms of my lover. I wake to chaos.

Jerked rudely from sleep when the warm furs are torn away, my somnambulant mind struggles with the bright light, raised voices and sudden cold. At first, I can make no sense of what is happening. Then my Prince cries out and I am awake in an instant.

Our small tent is filled with men – at least four of them. They are shouting – at us and each other. One, who I now recognize as a particularly unpleasant Counsel member, grips Castien by the upper arm, having clearly dragged him from our bed. From the way my Prince struggled the man is hurting him. My lip draws back in a snarl and I immediately spring.

Suddenly all the pressure around his neck was gone, and so was the weight of Cody’s body on his. As Marshall coughed and gasped for breath, he dimly heard Cody’s angry roar. Marshall rolled onto his knees. As he waited for his dizziness to pass, he took in the scene before him.

Cody was staggering toward Dustin, who’d backed up against the far wall. He held one of the laundry room chairs in his hand, raised in a threatening manner. He must have hit Cody with it. Blood flowed from Cody’s head, down his face. Dustin had hit him hard enough to hurt but not enough to knock him out, damn the luck.

“You fucking little prick!” Cody screamed.

Not even now. Not even with my promise of love fresh in his ears does my love truly believe in himself. At least he seems at peace. Perhaps, at last, he can at least believe in me.

“Come, we must retire and rest. I must send word to my father that we come and he should make ready.”

Castien melts into my side with a gentle sigh. “Will he like me, do you think?”

There is that anxiety again, leeching the colour from his beautiful eyes, painting shadow where there should be none.

“My father will like you. He will admire you. My mother will adore you, and my sister will steal from whatever kisses you can spare that are not for me.”
