It’s Hard to Forget Your First Love by Taylin Clavelli

After my first love, no matter what relationship I had, it got compared to it – compared to him in some way. Mainly the kiss – Was it better? Was it worse? Did it need more or less tongue? How did our height compare?

Regardless of whether my first love was a sinner or a saint, or who broke up with whom; the fact remained that, we shared a number of firsts. And they became the benchmark for every relationship that followed.

Darrin’s mood was dark. It had reached the point where even Mitch avoided dealing with him. But they hadn’t heard from Ben since he’d left. Darren was afraid his brand of  tough love had been too much.
“You know it’s nothing you did? Right?”
He turned and glared at Mitch. “You don’t know that. He should have at least sent us a text. But it’s like he’s fallen off the planet.” His expression soften and he allowed the fear to show through. “Mitch, I’m really afraid something’s happened to him.”

Cade and Louis cuddle up in bed after a big dinner and some very satisfying loving.

Cade was thinking about how much he wanted to bite Louis and claim him as his shifter half was urging him to. But they had discussed it and until Cade was ready to reveal his shifter half it would be hard to explain a large bite scar on Louis’ neck. That reminded him of the rest of his meeting with Thomas and Harold, he needed—

“So how did the rest of the meeting go?” Louis asked from his comfortable spot on Cade’s chest interrupting Cade’s internal debate.

At Full Speed #18 by Chris T. Kat

Jake didn’t recall the walk to his bed. Neither did he have any memory about how they ended up in his bed, both wearing shirts and briefs, with him nestled securely against Bruce’s side.

Dusk settled outside, and the only light in Jake’s bedroom came from the old lamp on his bedstand. Bruce rubbed circles on his back, sometimes using his full hand, sometimes using just the tip of his fingers. Jake wiggled closer to Bruce and sighed.

Bruce’s chest expanded, and even though Jake’s head rested on Bruce’s impressive ribcage, he sensed Bruce’s smile in his voice.

Don’t Look Back #53 (10.2) by Julie Lynn Hayes

Rhonda’s eyes narrowed, and she pursed her overly red lips as though she’d just eaten something extremely bitter. She drew back her hand, and Marshall flinched. He felt Lee’s muscles tense, and he just knew all hell was about to break loose once Lee got to her. But Roy acted more quickly. He caught Rhonda’s hand in his own and pulled her to her feet. She screeched indignantly before she yanked her hand back and stormed out of the house in a huff, screaming over her shoulder that they’d be sorry, and they hadn’t heard the last of her. Roy followed her to the door. His voice was too low-pitched for Marshall to catch whatever he was saying. Moments later, he returned to the family room.

“I think I managed to put the fear of God into her. She won’t be coming back here to bother you.”

“Thank you,” Lee said. “I don’t know what we’d do without you, Roy.” He drew Marshall closer as he spoke, holding him securely against his body. “Did you hear anything from the Attorney General’s office?”

In practically no time at all Ethan had the estimates ready. He called the client and gave them both estimates. When asked which option would be better, he responded, “The wood is in really good shape. It’s solid wood, not that veneer-covered pressboard crap. I really don’t think that a complete rebuild is necessary. All it really needs is sanding down and refinishing. I like to give my customers the option of restoration or a complete rebuild.

“Some pieces of furniture that have come through here needed to be rebuilt from scratch. This is not one of those cases.

A shudder rippled through Jake’s body. Although he’d started to talk, and a tiny voice inside his head demanded to pour his out heart to Bruce—to let go for once and trust another human being again—his throat felt swollen and impeded further speech.

Bruce gave his shoulder a gentle squeeze before he turned his head and pressed a chaste kiss to Jake’s left temple. Jake gasped, startled by the sudden pressure of firm lips ghosting from his temple over his cheek to the tip of his nose.

“What’s the matter, cat got your tongue?” Her smile sent cold shivers coursing down his spine.

“Where’s your manners? Ain’t you gonna ask your momma to come in?” She took a step toward the door, as if she had the right to just walk inside, and Marshall found his tongue at last.

“No!” he blurted out. “I’m not. What are you doing here, and what the hell do you want?”

That seemed to take her aback, at least for a moment. She narrowed her eyes at him and frowned. “Is that any way to talk to your mother, Marshall Clinton?”

Cade was getting frustrated. He wanted to get to know Louis but the little witch always seemed to disappear before he could talk to him.

He had felt a shock go through him when he touched the man and the scent of him stirred something in him, he wanted to explore those feelings. But first he needed to get Louis to stay in the same room as him for more than a few seconds. Ideally he wanted to get Louis alone, but he would settle for Louis just not running away.

When it came to paying the bills in what was now known colloquially as Casa Desde Desmond, since the Los Angeles home had once been a property of Hume’s bitter father-in-law, Charles Widmore, the duty fell upon the shoulders of Miles and Richard. They were expected to sort everything out.

It made sense. Between Alpert’s off-shore bank accounts and stock portfolio that he’d maintained for his Jacob-related activities, and the profit Miles made off of the diamonds he took with him from the island, it was their money that would keep the house lights on for the next fifty years.
