Don’t Look Back #50 (9.7) by Julie Lynn Hayes

Their first time together began with exploration. Lee encouraged Marshall to touch him in any way he wished in order to become comfortable with Lee’s body before they did anything else. Marshall was more than happy to comply. He’d dreamed of this moment for such a very long time. He moved to his knees so he could skim his fingers over Lee’s skin with feather light touches, caressing and discovering and learning. He lapped at Lee’s chest, loving the way he tasted. Then he licked Lee’s nipples until they became dusky nubs, and he sucked on each one, thrilling to the effect he had on Lee.

He found secret spots on Lee’s body that made Lee catch his breath when he touched them, and he mentally filed this knowledge away so he’d remember what pleased Lee. He’d wanted to taste Lee forever, and he was determined to do it, here and now. Even if he knew Lee wouldn’t come in his mouth. This time.

Don’t Look Back #49 (9.6) by Julie Lynn Hayes

They drew back for a moment, so Lee could make the toast he’d promised. Marshall had to admit he was curious to see how the champagne tasted, but mostly he wanted to hear what Lee had to say. Lee cleared his throat.

“I know I’m not the most eloquent man in the world. I have no real words that are adequate to tell you how much I love you, but I’m going to try. You mean everything to me, Marshall. You are my world and my joy, and I love you with everything I am. I promise that I shall always love you, and I’ll always be there for you. I’ll stand beside you, no matter what, for the rest of our days together, may they be many. I give to you all I am, now and forever.”

Double Trouble: Chapter 38 by Jon Keys

Darren started slightly when the back door slammed hard enough to rattle the framed photographs on his desk. Great, more drama. He sat back, knowing he was going to be dragged into the never-ending war. Just as he’d feared, Ben appeared in the doorway.
“I don’t have to put up with this shit! I’m not your fucking servant.”
Darren put his pen on the desk with an audible click and swiveled his chair to meet Ben’s angry expression.
“What are you talking about? No one is treating you bad.”

A River Rendezvous by Avery Dawes

Despite the throbbing in his leg, Will shambled down to the shore, a towel slung over his left shoulder, a cup of coffee gripped in his right hand. His newly constructed bungalow had weathered last night’s wicked storms well, taking the abuse of the high winds and torrential rain with all the ease of a conditioned submissive—bowed, but not broken.

Will dried off the Adirondack chair and slid into the seat, sipping his steaming cup of java. A thin layer of fog shrouded the bay, muffling everything but the sound of the water lapping against the shore. He’d only lived on Maryland’s Eastern Shore for two months, but this had been the most peaceful time of his life. He kept waiting to miss the camaraderie of his SEAL Team brothers, but after his last tour in the sandbox, he’d had enough. The medical discharge only cemented the fact his military career was over. Nothing like having a semi-bionic leg. Grateful the doctors had saved his limb, he now wondered if having a prosthetic would be less painful than having one filled with an assortment of titanium plates and rods.

Evans Woodworking: Chapter 2 by Jim Dunaway

In practically no time at all Ethan had the estimates ready. He called the client and gave them both estimates. When asked which option would be better, he responded, “The wood is in really good shape. It’s solid wood, not that veneer-covered pressboard crap. I really don’t think that a complete rebuild is necessary. All it really needs is sanding down and refinishing. I like to give my customers the option of restoration or a complete rebuild.

“Some pieces of furniture that have come through here needed to be rebuilt from scratch. This is not one of those cases.

Double Trouble: Chapter 35 by Jon Keys

Josh felt comfortable for the first time since Danny had been taken. When they found the person responsible he would feel even better. But for today, they had two kids who were so excited about getting new horses that worry was impossible.
“How much further?” Danny asked.
Josh chuckled and tussle Danny’s hair. “Not too much further.”
Danny crossed his arms and flopped against the seat. “Seems like forever.”
Before Josh could say anything, Sammy reached over and patted her brother on the shoulder. “I’m excited too, Danny. But we’ll be there soon. Maybe we could look for the ranch entrance. It’s got that fancy gate, remember?”

Don’t Look Back #41 (8.2) by Julie Lynn Hayes

“What’s the matter, cat got your tongue?” Her smile sent cold shivers coursing down his spine.

“Where’s your manners? Ain’t you gonna ask your momma to come in?” She took a step toward the door, as if she had the right to just walk inside, and Marshall found his tongue at last.

“No!” he blurted out. “I’m not. What are you doing here, and what the hell do you want?”

That seemed to take her aback, at least for a moment. She narrowed her eyes at him and frowned. “Is that any way to talk to your mother, Marshall Clinton?”

Don’t Look Back #40 (8.1) by Julie Lynn Hayes

Marshall slowly swam to consciousness. The chitter of birds and rustle of branches over his head were his first clues morning was upon them. Lee’s arm, draped around his torso, was warm and comfortable, their bodies spooned together in the oversized sleeping bag they used when they slept outdoors. Marshall burrowed against Lee, content to lie there. More than two weeks had passed since Thanksgiving, and his fears had begun to recede. They’d spent yesterday quail hunting and decided to stay the night out by the pond, where they’d cooked the birds they shot and made love beneath the stars.

Something niggled at the back of Marshall’s brain, , and it threatened to drive him crazy. There was something he’d left undone. He knew it was nothing as stupid as leaving the stove on, or forgetting to turn off a faucet. That was all too ingrained in him to even be a consideration. So what could it be?

FOOL FOR LOVE by L.M. Brown

April the first, also known as April Fools Day, was one of Liam’s favourite days to work. The previous year it had fallen on a Sunday and had been something of a disappointment. On working days, however, his normally fairly quiet office turned into a building full of pranksters.  You had to check every chair before you sat down as well as ensuring you didn’t leave any unattended mugs of coffee around. Fake spiders in the bottom of them were common place, as were other equally delightful surprises. Even the IT department joined in on the fun …

Love Across Time: Chapter 42 by Jim Dunaway

Colin’s facial expression and body language had Ryan freaking. Colin never let anything bother him. “Colin, you’re scaring me a little. What’s going on?”

Colin practically threw a beacon at him. “We need you to come back. The timeline’s all over the place. Thank God no paradoxes. It’s a good thing the building is protected by the chronometric cocoon. Liam thinks it might be because you’re here in the past.”

“I can’t go back. The tribunal will reinstate the death penalty.” Ryan stated matter-of-factly.
