Phases of Moon: Part 26 by J. Alan Veerkamp
Given their long lives, the moon limited their numbers, although this pack’s bloodlines were so weak a normal human lifespan was all they could count on. Except Fergus, of course, which is what made him the ideal choice to lead.

Phases of Moon: Part 24 by J. Alan Veerkamp
Dirt spit out from under Jimmy’s tires as he came to a hard stop on the service road next to Fergus’s truck and police cruiser right where he said to meet. He didn’t want to offend his future alpha, but the interruption—and ruining his first real opportunity to court Sawyer had his hackles risen. He pressed his palm over the business card in his vest pocket, making sure it was still there, hoping to calm himself down. His wolf hadn’t stopped snarling and clawing at his spine since he’d walked away from his mate an hour ago.
Crap. He called Sawyer his mate again.

True Family by Carol Pedroso
Hector groaned as he woke. It was still dark outside and he couldn’t have been asleep for long. His phone started buzzing on his side table letting him know why he was awake at this stupid hour of the night. He rolled out of bed and took his phone out of the room to avoid waking his still sleeping lover.
Heaving a sigh he swiped the answer icon, she wouldn’t stop until he answered anyway.
“Hello.”
“How could you do this, you insolent brat.”
Hector held the phone away from his ear to protect his eardrums from the shrill tone.

Adrift: Part 8 by J. Alan Veerkamp
Jimmy waited in his truck, having long since bored of thumbing through his phone. Useless piece of junk. Who did he have to call anyways? Unchecked dust greyed the radio’s controls. The chittering of nature would always be preferable over modern music and DJ babbling. With August’s full moon several days behind him and the waning gibbous tomorrow night, he was calm enough to kill time in silence.
Working through the phases of the moon’s gentle caress could be a mixed blessing. When it was new, he missed its presence but found serenity. When it was full, he craved the sight, yet spent day and night agitated and needy.

Adrift: Part 6 by J. Alan Veerkamp
Two sets of tiny chests swelled and deflated as the twins slept soundly in their crib. Freshly fed, their cherubic faces gave no indication of the chaotic night before. Small puffs of air came through their tiny pursed lips, sweetening their appearance and hiding the duality of their nature. Fergus leaned over the crib, his calloused fingertips ghosting over the wisps of dark hair on their heads, taking care not to disturb them. Royal and Regis hadn’t slept last night, but he couldn’t be prouder.
“The odds were against you. You know that, don’t you, Roy? Don’t you, Reg?”

A mother’s Loyalty, Short scene: Part 1, by Carol Pedroso
“Do you have any idea what that brat has done now?” Alpha Steven demanded of his wife as he strode into the bedroom. He waited but she just continued folding clothes instead of answering him. “Dee, are you going to answer me? Do you realize what that boy has done and what it could mean for this pack?”
“Yes Dear,” Dee replied absently as she refolded a shirt that wasn’t done to her liking.
“Hey, mum. Have you seen my favourite red shirt?” Harry entered the room as he spoke and froze when he saw his father.

I stopped, panting, my blade drooping in my grip as I stared at the dead Being. It wasn’t the first time I’d killed, not even close, but I had never done it in front of my family before. I didn’t want to look at them; didn’t want them to look at me. Death shouldn’t have touched my foals—they deserved to be home, safe from all the ugliness of the outside world.
“Papa, I’m so sorry!” Colete rushed to me. “Are you hurt?”
“No, no, I’m fine. Why are you sorry?” I was sorry. “Careful!” I quickly ran my blade

Here Kitty Kitty: Bonus Chapters #1 by Carol Pedroso
Tristan hesitated as he raised his hand to knock at the door of the place his mother was currently residing in.
Carl wrapped his arms around Tristan from behind. “Come on, my mate. You know she probably knows we are here anyway, don’t you? Her claimed mate is right behind us.”
As if to reinforce Carl’s words the front door swung open and Tristan’s mother stood framed in the doorway.
“Gideon? Are you really here?” Her voice sounded very close to tears and she was frantically looking trying to look around Tristan.
Gideon pushed forward and pulled his mate into his arms.

Tinn’il took one look at the mist and withdrew inside my cloak. I glanced over my shoulder. “Londe?” His horn was glimmering, but he was calm.
“I don’t sense anything.”
Anything evil, he meant.
“Are we going in there, Papa?” Colete asked. She was leaning on Londe. He hung his head over her healing withers, gently nosing her cheek.
“We have to, Tera says. This is the way to Tinn’il’s family.” I didn’t want to take my family through the mist, but I couldn’t leave them behind unprotected either.
“I keep telling you I’m not your enemy,” Tera said. She
