Hi everyone! This is Rob Colton and I’m here to talk about my brand new paranormal novella, An American Lamb in Europe. The book was released Wednesday, February 12th , and is available from Dreamspinner Press and all your favorite online book stores.
First of all, thanks to Julie Lynn Hayes for inviting me to join the Wednesday Briefs group of bloggers. And thanks to Andrew Gordon for creating this web site for all of us.
The briefs has been a very positive experience for me. My fellow bloggers have been so supportive, and the fans have been great. So, to show my appreciation to all of the Wednesday Briefs fans that have supported me and encouraged me over the past few months, I am giving away an ebook copy of An American Lamb in Europe.

Blurb:
Jamie Anderson knows you need to look before you leap, but he forgets it often enough to land in trouble. When his brother and only remaining family member disappears, he doesn’t think twice about quitting his job as a dental hygienist to travel to the Czech Republic to search for him.
Rescued by the sexy, mysterious Tomas in a small city near the German border, Jamie enlists his help in locating Rudy. Soon Jamie realizes the man knows more than he’s sharing. When Jamie demands Tomas tell him the truth, Tomas reveals he’s a vampire. Horrified the man he’s fantasized about is a monster, Jamie struggles with the fact he still needs Tomas’s help to find Rudy.
Jamie never expects their search will land him in the middle of a vampire turf war.
Excerpt:
Tomas told me to meet him the following night at the nightclub. Once we knew the rendezvous point, we would then meet the leader of the coven that Rudy served.
When I arrived at the club, I made my way inside the front door. Two gigantic muscle men stood at the doors, checking every person who entered. When they saw me, they immediately moved back and allowed me to pass.
There were people everywhere, covering every inch of the floor, dancing, having sex, feeding. The heat they generated was a sharp contrast to the cold outside. Unzipping my coat, I made my way through the crowd to find Tomas. Strangely enough, I didn’t need to ask anyone to move; the crowd seemed to part for me.
“That’s him,” someone whispered off to my right. I searched for the source of the voice. Two thinly built men stood out from the crowd. The twins were identical: shirtless, wearing low-slung skinny jeans. They wore eyeliner and had spiky hair dyed in various bright colors. They looked upon me in awe, as if I was some kind of god.
I looked back over my shoulder. What the hell? Surely, they weren’t talking about me.
When I finally found Tomas, I made my way directly to him, ignoring the odd looks I was receiving. I especially ignored the man who glared at me with a look that could kill.
Tomas sat alone in one of the circular booths. His arms were stretched out along the back of the seat. He looked like sex on a stick. His icy-blue eyes never left mine from the time I noticed him until I sat down in the booth.
“Hi.”
In a smooth move, he slid next to me, close enough that our thighs were touching. “Hello, lämmchen. We have some time before we need to leave. Would you like something to eat?”
“I already ate, but, um, ew.” I jerked my thumb toward the next booth where two men were frantically fucking and feeding on top of the table. “Do you really think I’m gonna eat food cooked in a place that allows that to go on?”
Tomas burst out laughing, the first time I had seen him do so. “I see your point. How about a drink, then?”
“Sure.”
Tomas raised his hand and called for a waiter. After a brief conversation in Czech, the waiter bowed and left. When he returned, he placed a drink in front of me. He seemed to go out of his way to avoid looking me in the eye.
The red color of the drink was off-putting, and I gave it a skeptical eye. Surely, Tomas didn’t order me a blood cocktail.
“It’s vodka and cranberry, Jamie.” The corner of Tomas’s mouth twitched. His hand slid to the back of my neck. He toyed with my hair and stroked his fingers across the nape.
Picking up the drink, I downed a healthy gulp to prove I wasn’t afraid. I hoped the alcohol would also calm my nerves. Having Tomas so close to me made me break out in a sweat.
Tomas leaned in. Running his nose along my jugular, he inhaled deeply. After licking a trail up my neck, he flicked his tongue across my earlobe. “I can smell you. I can see your heart beat in your vein.”
Okay, then.
I grabbed my glass and gulped down another swallow. Even though the people in the club were going about their own business, the sly glances were kind of getting on my nerves. “People are looking at me,” I muttered over the rim of my glass.
“That’s because you’re sitting with the sexiest man in the club.”
I looked over at Tomas, who wore a completely serious expression on his face. His words might have been the truth, but I wasn’t about to tell him that, so instead I rolled my eyes. “You’re not all that.”
“Perhaps they are jealous of me, then. I am sitting with the most intriguing man in the city.”
Once again, he was completely serious. I had no witty comeback this time.

I don’t really like vampire stories, but since it’s written by you, I’m looking forward to reading it. You always have a very special take on whatever genre/topic you decide to write, be it werewolves, science fiction, cowboys, contemporary… the important thing is the way you portray the love between the characters. That’s what I always look for.
I have not been into vampire stories, but this has peaked my interest. I love all of Rob’s stories so deciding to read this one was easy!

I can hoonestly say I love every book/story of yours that I have read from the beginning. I’m excited about this one being of the other major paranormal group of vamps since you’ve done the weres already. You caught my attention with the blurb and the book summary. Sounds really interesting. But, damn is the Tomas really that conceited?
Thanks for offering the briefers a chance to win something!
