It is a pleasure to meet you, my name is Raine O’Tierney!

I have been writing for a very long time—but this is my first foray into publication. I started writing m/m back in 2004 after I got into yaoi. (Some people love it, some people hate it. For me it was a gateway drug, and the only thing that satisfied the craving for MORE was to start creating m/m myself!)

I am the exact opposite of ‘afraid of the camera’ and I am obsessed with tiny hats, looking goofy, filters, and taking pictures at work. I have also been known to photobomb, when the opportunity arises.

I’m both loud and shy, if that’s humanly possible (which I suppose it must be, unless I don’t really exist)! I hate public speaking, but I’m wildly enthusiastic and a launch-myself-into-hugs type of person. I declare something to be my ‘favorite thing ever!’ at least once a day, and, in that moment, I mean it.

My husband, Siôn, and I live in a dachshund household. (We’re owned by this handsome gentleman, Klaus, pictured below!) My dream to have a full-on pack of dachshunds that roam around our home. I think dachshunds are the noblest of dogs, with their long bodies, little short legs, and barrel chests. You have to be damned awesome to carry yourself so regally while looking as funny as they do!

My keep-a-roof-over-my-head job is working for the library. The initials of my department spell out I.R.S. which is AMAZING. I basically had two dream jobs: published author and librarian, and I get to do them both now, so I’m pretty dang satisfied. I’m involved in promoting writing events in my library because I believe, more than anything, that we all have a story to tell. Don’t even HINT that you’ve ever thought about considering maybe someday possibly writing, because I will drill-sergeant that story right out of you! Some people find my passionate encouragement…er…overbearing. (I’m being polite: they hate it.)

I am overwhelmed by the positive reaction I’ve received from the m/m community as I’ve tried to eke out my little spot amongst the giants. And yes, I’m going to use it now: the support is…the Best. Thing. Ever!
